Q: “It’s interesting that you’ve been a player for thirty years but in the last six or eight years, you’re still being influenced, you’re still studying it in a way. A lot of guys don’t – they find their style when they’re twenty two and that’s it.”
A: “Well, I don't know if that's, speaking from experience for myself, I've been influenced from very different times. You know, when I started when I was 18, 19, or 20, I was very heavily ... I thought, you know, I was into bebop and I had arrived at bebop after earlier being influenced by swing players and some stride players and boogie-woogie and things like that.”
